Bergerac

With just 30,000 residents, the town of Bergerac is the third-largest city in the Périgord - the best of the best French gourmet regions. The Périgord is famous for its aromatic truffles and wonderful wines, which thrive in this mild climate. Bergerac is located in Dordogne, has its own small harbour and a medieval Old Town. The tobacco museum is also worth a visit. Take some culinary day trips to the weekly markets in the area or visit some of the local places that are steeped in old French culture.
