Today the rich and beautiful still meet on the esplanade near the Rocher de la Vierge (virgin cliffs). However, most visitors come for the spectacular waves and white beaches. Biarritz is the hottest surfing spot on the French Atlantic coast! The most popular surfing beach is located south of the city centre. On the main beach – the Grand Plage, with its promenade, casino and trendy cafés, you will find charming, colourful canvas tents for changing and a beautiful view of the cliffs on the far side of the bay.
