Dakar

The Senegalese capital Dakar is located on the Cape Verde Peninsula, right on the Atlantic. It is the African city located furthest to the west. The view of the rocky coast from the lighthouse is spectacular. Apart from that, the 500-kilometer long coast of Senegal slopes slightly. You will find the best beaches for swimming at the Petite Côte and at Cap Skirring in southern Senegal. Along with wonderful beaches, cities of cultural interest such as St. Louis, Gorée Island and Safaris, or the Nikolo-Koba national park are at the top of the list for a trip through the touristy, well-developed West African country.
