The highest mountain in Africa is located in northeastern Tanzania. This magical peak attracts climbers from all over the world. A guide must accompany all climbers who ascend to the 5895 m summit. Climbers should plan at least three days for an ascent in order to accommodate some time to acclimatize to the thin mountain air. Those who wish to spend a few days relaxing on the beach after the climb will find quite a few super beaches near the harbor city of Dar es Salaam. And a flight from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar only takes 20 minutes. Of course, for everyone who wants to observe animals in the wild, the national parks in northern Tanzania are a must, above all the Serengeti National Park or the conservation area surrounding the Ngorongoro Crater.
