San Juan

San Juan, the capital of the Caribbean island nation of Puerto Rico, was established by the Spanish in 1521. The old town, which features numerous buildings from the 16th and 17th century, is now completely protected by historical preservation efforts. In addition to the fantastic Caribbean beaches, Puerto Rico offers much more to discover: lush rain forests, indigenous villages, a bioluminescent bay, the world's third-largest cave system and the world's largest radio telescope antenna.
