Seattle is the largest city in the northwestern United States. It is located on the shores of Lake Washington and Puget Sound, which form a fjord-like sea inlet dotted with countless islands. The ferry is the best way to explore the bay. A coastal hike along the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail is also a good recommendation for its fantastic views.

The Seattle Center, built for the World's Fair in 1962, is the city's cultural center. The Space Needle, a 185 m tower located in the same complex, offers visitors a chance to dine in a terrific restaurant with a view of the whole Seattle area.
