Stavanger

Stavanger is a harbour city in southwestern Norway. With just about 130,000 residents, it is the country's fourth largest city. Stavanger has a pretty old town with white painted wooden houses built in the 18th and 19th centuries. The central point of the city is the cathedral from 1125. In 2008, Stavanger was even a European Capital of Culture. A visit to the Norwegian Oil Museum is recommended.
