Vancouver is Canada's third-largest city. It is located in southwestern British Columbia. The Coast Mountain range frames the view of this important harbor city. The second-largest Chinatown in North America is located in the business district. Among the most beautiful destinations for visitors to Vancouver are the spacious Stanley Park, the Aquarium and an aerial cable car trip to Grouse Mountain (1211 m), which promises a unique view of the city, the Pacific coast and the mountains to the west, but only in good weather. The town of Whistler, located north of Vancouver, provides an excellent selection of winter sports possibilities. On the sandy beaches on the west coast of Vancouver Island visitors can swim, ride the waves and, with a little luck, even see a whale.
