Unaccompanied children
For children aged 5 to 11, which travel on their own, airlines offer a special escort service. Children/youths are not permitted to travel alone before their 12th birthday without this escort service. They have to be accompanied by an adult or a youth of at least 16 years of age who is responsible for them. Children/youths as of their 12th birthday will only be carried on submission of a written declaration of consent signed by a parent or guardian.
In some countries, youths under 18 years must present authorisation forms of their legal guardians. In case of flights to/from Portugal, the declaration of consent must be notarised. Unaccompanied children must not carry pets.

On TUIfly flights, this escort service costs EUR 30 (GBP 24/USD 48) per child and flight segment on international routes and EUR 35.70 per child and flight segment on domestic routes over and above the fare.
