Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi greatly influenced the look of Catalonia's capital city. Everywhere are parts of the famous architect's legacy. Structures with organic, asymmetrical facades and wavy walls decorated with fantastic patterns made of dozens of mosaic tiles are among the favourite motives for photographers. Tip: Gaudi's Casa Milá with rooftop access. La Rambla, a busy pedestrian mall and open air stage for performing artists, leads from the Placa de Catalunya to the harbour and city beach. Make a side trip to the Boqueria, a huge market hall that offers fresh fish and mountains of fruits.
