La Romana is the third-largest city in the Dominican Republic. In this tropical climate, the temperature remains between 23° and 28°C the whole year round. Among the most beautiful beaches in the La Romana region are the Playa Bayahibe and the Playa Dominicus. In the Parque Nacional del Este just a few kilometers southeast of La Romana are mangrove forests, limestone caves and fantastic beaches. Accommodations range from simple cottages at Club Dominicus to the luxury resort of Casa de Campo, where the world's most famous golf course architect, Paul Dye, created one of the best courses in the Caribbean, "Teeth of the dog".
