Data protection - General

The protection of your privacy and personal data is very important to TUI fly. We also pay significant attention to these aspects in respect of our internet activities. Our practicing data protection complies with the provisions of the German Federal Data Protection Act as well as further provisions of data protection in the internet.
In order to protect your data against incidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by non authorized persons we use technical and organizational security procedures. We will continuously optimize these security procedures according to technical development.

Personal Data

Personal Data are information which can be used to trace your identity. This includes information with regard to your identity such as your name, address, postal address, telephone number etc.. Information which cannot be related directly to your true identity (such as preferred websites or the number of users on a site) is not included.

Passing of Personal Data to third parties

In case data will be passed to service providers these are bound by the German Federal Data Protection Act and other statutory regulations and mandatory contractual requirements by TUI fly with respect to data protection.
Personal information to public institutions, governmental authorities and third parties required for the performance of the contract of air carriage will only be provided when required by mandatory law, in compliance with the Federal German Data Protection Act.

Right to revoke

You are entitled to seek information on your stored data, free of charge,. In addition you have the right to demand correction, deletion or stoppage of incorrect data. Data required for accounting and bookkeeping purposes shall not be affected by a termination notice respectively by a deletion.

Use of ‘Cookies’

TUI fly may also use ‘cookies’ (little files including configuration information) in compliance with the rules of the German Informationsgemeinschaft zur Feststellung der Verbreitung von Werbeträgern e.V. They help to find out the frequency of usage and the number of users and to improve the comfort of usage in respect to the products offered.
For user friendly purposes we may store information such as your user ID with the help of ‘cookies’. The allocation of customer data simplifies your booking so that you do not have to re-enter your personal details.
You can also use our offer without ‘cookies’. Most browsers accept ‘cookies’ automatically. However, you can change the browser set up so that either you will be informed when ‘cookies’ are sent or ‘cookies’ will be denied.
When using the advantages of TUI fly for the first time you need to register with your e-mail and a password. You also have the possibility to enter your personal data (such as your name, address, date of birth), so that that are filed and you do not have to re-enter them each time you make an online booking. To complete your booking we need, apart from participant- also your payment data (bank reference, account number or credit card number etc.).

Concerning the Use of the Scalable Centralized Measurement System (SZM)

To collect statistical information on how our offers are used, our website works with the “Scalable Centralized Measurement System” (“Skalierbares zentrales Messverfahren, SZM) developed by INFOnline ( The system collects anonymous data. To recognize computer systems, the SZM audience measurement uses either a cookie, based on the answer-back code “” or, alternatively, a signature generated on the basis of a number of different information automatically sent back from your computer. This method doesn’t store IP addresses; it only processes them anonymously.

The audience measurement has been developed in due consideration of data protection. Its aim is to evaluate statistically the intensity of use and the number of users of a website. At no time, single users are identified. Their identity remains protected at all times and they do not receive any advertisement about the system.
For web projects [of companies] that are members of the German Information Group for the Identification of the Dissemination of Advertising Media (Informationsgemeinschaft zur Feststellung der Verbreitung von Werbeträgern e.V. – IVW – or that participate in the study „internet facts“, conducted by the German Working Group for Online Media Research (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Online-Forschung e.V. – AGOF –, the audience statistics will be published monthly by AGOF and the German Working Group Media Analysis (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Media-Analyse e.V.  – – as well as by the IVW.
