Airlines offer you various check-in options: at the airport check-in desk, by web check-in or by checking in the evening before.
In general, the airport check-in desks are open 2 hours before the scheduled departure. Our recommendation is to check in early because the check-in desk closes 45 minute prior to departure (60 minutes in Tel Aviv). Passengers must appear at the check-in desk no later than 45 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time (60 minutes in Tel Aviv) and be in the possession of a boarding pass. After this point, because the check-in system closes, no further check-in processing is possible.
If you have booked a connecting flight, you should include at least 120 minutes for transit time.
Special conditions for the TUIfly airline company: for all passengers that booked the TUIfly Pure fare, for all departures as of 1 Nov. 2014, TUIfly shall charge a fee for checking in at the airport desk in the amount of 5.00 EUR per person (aged 2 and older). Check-in at the airport is free for the following TUIfly passengers: passengers who booked the Perfect fare; Premium Economy passengers, groups of more than 9 people per booking, people with impaired vision and/or mobility, unaccompanied children with booked attendant service and people travelling with registered animals.
During the period from 30 days to five hours before departure, web check-in is free for all passengers.
At many German airports, baggage can be checked the evening before the flight at the TUIfly early drop-off area. You must first check in with the web check-in procedure, however. For early baggage drop-off on the evening before, a fee in the amount of 5.00 EUR per person (aged 2 and older) will be charged.
